Lou Reed and the Blind Boys of Alabama prove once again that, when it's heartfelt, there's no such thing as a bad prayer. Reed who wrote the simple song, "Jesus," first recorded it with the Velvet Underground in 1968.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this song, thanks for posting it. I read a fascinating Guideposts story about "The Blind Boys of Alabama" once, and the singers are blind. After hearing this song, I may have to get one of their albums.
